Technical Information
The WDS Pull-Down Insert (PDI) is a new concept based around an existing method of workholding commonly used in the Aerospace industry. Conventionally a matrix plate with holes every 25 mm or 50 mm is utilised. This is very expensive, but may be justified if a wide range of components is to be produced using the plate.
If only a single, or small range of components is to be produced, the WDS PDI offers significant cost savings due to the fact that only the number of tapped holes required to securely hold the workpiece need be produced in a plain plate in order to ensure secure clamping. At a fraction of the cost.
